David Cameron - Year of Change
David Cameron's new poster for power is ever so slightly unbelievable. Clearly he is on the hunt for every vote but will anyone believe him? Sadly there is a new generation of voters who were barely born when the last conservative government caused riots and homeless people in their hoards on the streets.

MATT & NATa HANDBAG?
A HAND - BAG? A vegan HAND BAG? A stylish, utterly exquisite looking, luxury, ethical, vegan HANDBAG?
Yep!
When he was 18 years old, Inder Bedi was challenged to forego animal products for thirty days. Upon graduating university, Inder set out to create an accessories brand that, although vegan, was first and foremost beautiful, understanding that the two could co-exist.
Now thirteen years later, he sits at the helm of one of Canada's premier accessory brands, MATT & NAT, garnering international recognition, and the originator of vegan luxury.
Samsara is his latest venture: a collection of vegan accessories with the intention to affect change both locally and globally.
For every bag sold, ONE DOLLAR is donated to a non-profit organization of your choice. That means that every bag found on any shelf across Canada represents one dollar that will be donated at the end of the season.

Beef Industry retaliate on Meat Free Mondays
UC Davis News & Information :: Don’t Blame Cows for Climate Change: "Mitloehner said. 'Producing less meat and milk will only mean more hunger in poor countries.'"
What? on the basis that if we stop producing so much, fuelled by massive govt subsidies , we'll have less to throw away and then companies will have less waste product to then take advantage of more grants to turn it into food that can be shipped off to Africa's starving.
Who funded this twaddle?
"Clearing the Air" is a synthesis of research by the UC Davis authors and many other institutions, including the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture, California Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board. Writing the synthesis was supported by a $26,000 research grant from the Beef Checkoff Program, which funds research and other activities, including promotion and consumer education, through fees on beef producers in the U.S.
Oh I see
"The developed world's efforts should focus not on reducing meat and milk consumption," said Mitloehner, "but rather on increasing efficient meat production in developing countries, where growing populations need more nutritious food." he witters on
Or we could just cut out the middle man and grow and eat more nutritious plant based foods and exporting less McDonald's , milkshakes and essential nutrient free Dunkin Dough Nuts. That would also save electricity, water and the rain forests!
Every respectable health promotions authority in the world now recognises a formula of less saturated animal fat and more fruit and vegetables is the best route to reduce epidemics of chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Finally will someone please ask Twonk brain what he thinks his factory farmed efficient cows will eat? Yes! not factored that into your convenient Beef industry sponsored equation have you?

Top 10 Food Trends for 2010

Top 10 / top 20 food trends for 2010 - The NRN are, it's safe to say, fairly conservative, (their politics have been likened to a little right of the NRA) as you'd expect for a magazine whose readership are chefs who routinely think up new ways to kill animals and make dead rotting flesh taste nice.
The cliche of Chefs' animosity to vegetarians is perpetuated by chefs such as Gordon Ramsay - the only thing he says he hates more than vegans is traffic wardens.
So a good sign indeed that the National Restaurant News, NRN , one letter away from NRA, and their survey of chefs has come out with these encouraging results in their top 20 food trends for 2010 for the ethical environmentalists amongst us.
Exciting times ahead surely , good news for Vegetarian Visitor the UK Restaurant and accommodation guide and perfect timing for The Vegetarian Society's new campaign V Healthy that features leading London Nutritionist Yvonne Bishop-Weston's 7 ways to health

World Diabetes Day 14th November

A group of health professionals gathered a group of diabetics and sucessfully reversed their diabetes just by eating vegan wholefoods.
Lets put health back in the hands of the people rather than leaving them at the mercy of the profit machine of the pharmaceutical industry. Empowerment through knowledge and diet
Take 6 people and reverse their diabetes just through Diet?
Drugs are killing people.
Processed food is killing people.
If you really want to get well then try this approach, if it doesn't work what have you got to lose? You'll still be on the drugs. You'll still be ill.
If it does work, with the supervision of your doctor you can gradually wean yourself off any drugs that you don't need any more.

Lush Prove Hunters are Extremists
Lush prove themselves to be true vegan heroes as they take on the fringe extreemists in the Countryside Alliance who think it's acceptable to trample through people's gardens and watch a pack of dogs rip a fox to bloody shreds for fun.LUSH refuse to be bullied by these violent extremist fanatics who live in a make believe world where they mourn the loss of slavery and allowing women to vote.
Well done LUSH for supporting the working class heroes who get up at 4.30 on a Saturday morning to thwart the psycopathic foibles of the bloodsport fanatics.

Alicia Silverstone Does Vegan on MTV
What's all this? Superheroes and Flirters??
Alicia Silverstone is rocking the boat of the status quo and jeopardising the future for us all. She's gone all sensible and logical on us and has written a book called the 'kind diet' andis plugging it on TV and in glossy mags.
Woah Alicia ! Don't let the cat out of the bag! If those selfish, dumbass spotty steak eaters get wind of all this then what hope do we have? If they don't continue eating all that meat and dying at half their natural life expectancy we'll never be able to fit all the vegans on the planet - there just isn't the room!
Killing off meat eaters with Diabetes, Heart Disease, Stroke, cancer, osteoporosis, Altzhiemers is just nature's way of natural selection and survival of the fittest.
Greenpeace Dodge the Truth 12 Times
Greenpeace dodge the truth yet again.
Like Al Gore before them in an inconvenient truth their inconvenient truth for them is that eating less meat is the single most powerful thing you can do for the planet.
so yeah - well done for getting on the roof of Parliament in London, well done for capturing the nations attention, well done for forcing green issues higher up the UK political agenda....
But more important than anything if you want an immediate effect on saving the planet it's getting people to eat less meat. The implications go far beyond the simple arithmatic on gases caused by livestock farming and forest destruction to grow food to feed the animals - that's worse than all theworlds transport.
Not factored into that are the resources needed to treat people with heart problems, cancers, diabetes and host of other preventable diseases self inflicted and caused by bad, highly processed, vitamin and mineral deficient diets.
